Aanand L Rai, producer of Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, and was present at the trailer launch on Tuesday spoke about hoping that Shubh Mangal Saavdhan receives a U/A clearance.
When asked if they faced any censor issues Aanand, said “There are no problems till the trailer release, we have tried to keep the film as clean as possible and as much the subject allows. We are hoping that this film receives a U/A.”
Aanand who has produced films like, Tanu Weds Manu, Nil Battey Sannata, and now Shubh Mangal Saavdhan when asked why did he chose this subject, he said “It was important for me to work on this project because the idea that middle class is very conservative is going on since a long time. I wanted to deal into something that will open up the topic a little bit. This film has such a topic where I can see the entire family enjoying the film and it’s something that we should be able to talk about.”
The producer also spoke about this film’s process he said, “The process was long when Prasanna first same to me with the story it told him it will take time. He had to travel to Delhi and Rishikesh. To understand the world in which the story lives. It took a long time to work on the process. It took us two years to finish the complete film.”
Ayushmann Khurrana, the lead actor in the film spoke about the trailer, he said “I am really proud of this trailer and the film. And the response that we got right now with so many people around is very overwhelming.”
Shubh Mangal Saavdhan directed by R.S. Prasanna, starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar will release on 1st September 2017.
