January 25, 2011 : Veteran theater personality and film director Ramesh Talwar, will soon make his television debut. He will be seen in Colors’ recently launched primetime show ‘Mukti Bandhan’. He will play the role of Bhawanji Bha, the name which has been doing the rounds since last few episodes.
We have heard the name from the mouth of the lead character I.M. Virani (Shiv Subramaniam), who sounds to have a very negative relation with Bhawanji Bha. In the coming episodes, the character will come alive with entry of Ramesh Talwar.
Ramesh Talwar has won many accolades as the director of the movies like Doosra Aadmi and Basera. He had worked as an assistant to renowned filmmaker Yash Chopra in the movies such as Kabie Kabhie, Silsila, etc. Apart from directing various plays, Talwar has also acted in many of them. His latest involvement as a director was with the play ‘Main Aur Kaifi’, which had association of Javed Akhtar and Shabana Azmi.
As per the sources, Bhawanji Baa once used to be the boss of I.M. Virani but due to some bitter past their relationship changed and Virani hates the man now. He always looks for an opportunity to humiliate Bhawanji.
Speaking about his small screen debut, Talwar said that writer of the show Vipul Mehta is a close friend of him. So when he assured him that he is the only actor, who can do justice to the role, he agreed to take it up. Talwar added that he never thought of acting in television but it is happening in the form of ‘Mukti Bandhan’.
It will be interesting to see how I.M.Virani and Bhawanji Baa react when they face each other for the first time on the show.
