Kashmira Pardeshi's role as Aliya in 'The Freelancer' affected her deeply, leading to sleepless nights and anxiety.

Distinguished for her exemplary work in Tamil and Telugu cinemas, Kashmira Pardeshi is now gearing up to captivate audiences with a gripping performance in Neeraj Pandey’s much-anticipated thriller, ‘The Freelancer’.

As she steps into the shoes of the main character, Aliya, she has opened up about the demanding nature of the role and its profound effect on her.

In this series, under the skilled direction of Mohit Raina, Kashmira will lead as Aliya. Sharing insights about her journey with the character, Kashmira revealed, “Although Aliya’s experiences differ significantly from my own, the intense filming of interior scenes reflecting her pain truly took a toll on me.

She continued, “Delving deep into such raw emotions consecutively for days left me feeling anxious. The profound weight of Aliya’s trauma resonated with me to the point where I found myself restless and fearful, even during trivial moments. It wasn’t until much later that I recognized this was due to embodying Aliya’s distressed state for an extended period.

‘The Freelancer’ draws its narrative from the compelling book ‘A Ticket to Syria’ penned by Shirish Thorat. With Bhav Dhulia taking the director’s chair and Friday Storytellers backing it in production, Neeraj Pandey takes the helm as the Creator and Showrunner.

The story sheds light on the intricate workings of the Islamic State, focusing on their sinister operations that manipulate countless individuals for a wicked cause.

Centering around an extraction mission, the series paints a chilling picture of a young woman, Aliya, held hostage in the tumultuous landscape of Syria, portraying her desperate attempt to break free from the clutches of death.
