November 29, 2010 : Imagine TV is going to launch its brand new show ‘Armanon ka Balidaan-Aarakshan’ tonight at 8:30 pm. The show has taken the time slot vacated by another popular show ‘Jyoti’.
The new show deals with the controversial issue of reservation in government jobs. The theme of the show itself is very controversial and even before the launch, the show is facing another controversy because of its title. Fimmlaer Prakash Jha expressed his unhappiness over the title as he is making a film on the same line.
However, Saurabh Tewari, Head of Fiction Programming, Imagine TV stated that both parties have presented their view point to the Association of Motion Pictures and Television Producers (AMPTP). Now, the decision of AMPTP is awaited but the show is launching tonight amidst this confusion.
Tewari said that neither Jha has the idea about their show nor he has any clue about his film so there is no point of fighting. Moreover, this is a general issue and no one can claim getting copyright of this, added Tewari.
Now, we will have to see the impact of the show on the viewers as it launches today. The quota system has always been a sensitive issue and we hope the makers have dealt it with equal sensitivity.
So, don’t miss the opening episode tonight at 8:30 pm on Imagine TV.
