November 22. 2010 : American television network Fox has just announced their next rescheduling plans. And according to the announcement, reality show ‘American Idol’, the next season of which goes on air on the 19th of January 2011, has been shifted to Wednesday and Thursday nights instead of the Tuesday and Wednesday nights as earlier decided. The shifting of ‘American Idol’ has come after Fox announced the rescheduling of a game show which representatives of the channel claim as another ‘Who Wants To Be a Millionaire’ in the making.
According to American television standards, Thursday night is a very big night, and it is said that only the best programs go on air on Thursday nights, programs which can lead to an increase of TRPs for its producers. ‘American Idol’ has always been a highly followed American television program over the years and Fox would like to cash in on its popularity. Confirming the news to the media is Preston Beckman, the executive vice president of Fox who says that since Thursday has seen some of the strongest shows on American TV being telecast at primetime, he thought shifting ‘American Idol’ to Thursday nights was a very good idea.
Coming up on Fox alongside ‘American Idol’ is a spate of television soaps and game shows. So gear up all Americans for some quality time in front of your TV sets.
