Emily Blunt openly discusses her hopes for a sequel to 'Edge of Tomorrow', expressing her eagerness to reunite with co-star Tom Cruise in the anticipated film.

Emily Blunt is expressing hopes for a potential reunion with actor Tom Cruise, specifically in the much-anticipated sequel of the science fiction hit, ‘Edge of Tomorrow’. The initial film, which was a considerable success at the 2014 box office, saw the pair deliver commendable performances, sharing the screen in an intriguing and captivating narrative.

Rumours and speculation about a potential sequel to ‘Edge of Tomorrow’ have been rampant on social media for a long duration. Despite the prolonged wait and widespread conjecture, there remains a lack of official confirmation concerning the existence of the sequel.

In the meantime, Emily Blunt didn’t shy away from discussing this topic during her recent appearance on an episode of the Happy Sad Confused podcast. She candidly addressed the potential of her reuniting with her co-star, Tom Cruise, in ‘Edge of Tomorrow 2’.

Expressing her desire for a second film, she revealed that she has, in fact, had the chance to peruse a script for a potential sequel. “Doug [Liman] kind of slithered over to me a script,” Emily shared with the host, Josh Horowitz.

However, she emphasized that while she’d love to see it come to fruition, she remained uncertain about the logistics and timing, jokingly referencing Cruise’s commitments to the Mission Impossible franchise.

Emily fondly recalled Tom’s performance in ‘Edge of Tomorrow‘, where he brilliantly portrayed a somewhat cowardly hero who is stuck in a time loop, continuously reliving the same day while battling extraterrestrial beings. She enthusiastically affirmed her readiness for a sequel, assuring listeners that she wouldn’t be an obstacle in its creation.
