Gal Gadot, famed for her role as ‘Wonder Woman’, recently opened up about a new venture. She will take on the iconic role of the Evil Queen in the much-anticipated live-action version of ‘Snow White’. This rendition revives the magic of the 1937 animated masterpiece.
Describing her audition process, Gal said it was thrilling and intense. In a conversation covered by The Hollywood Reporter, she mentioned it had been a while since she auditioned. But this project was special. It’s not just an ordinary film, but a musical. Thus, ensuring Gal’s singing prowess was essential.
To meet this challenge, Gal diligently prepared for weeks. She immersed herself in perfecting a song. “I dedicated a whole month, honing that song,” Gal recounted. “After the intense preparation, I finally auditioned, recorded the song, and to my delight, secured the role.”
Recently, in a chat with People, Gal humorously shared a family anecdote. After wrapping up the spy-thriller ‘Heart of Stone’, co-starring Alia Bhatt, she revealed her next project to her kids.
Her middle child initially assumed Gal would play Snow White, leading to some disappointment upon discovering she’d be the villain. However, her eldest child cheekily remarked, “Oh, how appropriate.”
At the D23 event in 2022, Gal and Rachel Zegler, cast as Snow White, showcased a snippet of their on-screen avatars. Rachel highlighted the revamped essence of her character. “Snow White retains her classic charm but adapts to contemporary times,” she remarked. The narrative will underscore the essence of fairness and justice.
Marc Webb will direct this rendition, with Greta Gerwig, known for ‘Barbie’, penning the screenplay. Audiences can revel in this enchanting tale on March 22, 2024.
