This unexpected spotlight moment came when Taylor Swift decided to premiere her new music video for the song ‘I Can See You (Taylor’s Version)’ during her Kansas City concert. Joey, along with Taylor Lautner and Presley Cash, had all played roles in this video and were therefore present at the concert. When discussing her emotions at the time with CNN, Joey remarked, “It’s a very niche experience to walk out on a stage of 70,000-plus people.” She candidly continued, “I was like, ‘Bring me on stage?’ [And Taylor Swift] was like, ‘Didn’t I tell you?’ I was taken aback. The realization dawned, and I suddenly began to feel nervous, sweating profusely. The energy emanating from the vast crowd was both overwhelming and exhilarating.”
Drawing an unusual yet fitting analogy, Joey likened the intense feeling of appearing on stage at a Taylor Swift concert to the shock of plunging into an ice bath. “It just takes your breath away, and you’re genuinely caught for breath,” she elaborated, emphasizing the sheer magnitude of the moment.
Moreover, Joey recollected a past encounter with Taylor Swift back in 2011. The pop star had approached her with a proposal to star in her song ‘Mean’. Being a dedicated Swiftie herself, Joey didn’t require much persuasion when the opportunity arose to collaborate once again for ‘I Can See You’. Reminiscing about the occasion, Joey gushed, “I love Taylor. Who doesn’t? She’s such a remarkable talent.”
