In an unexpected turn of events, pop royalty Madonna, at the age of 64, experienced a serious health scare, reportedly being “revived” with an emergency injection after falling into septic shock. This incident took place in her New York residence, where she was found unresponsive near the end of June.
According to insiders speaking to RadarOnline, the ‘Like a Prayer’ singer was believed to have contracted a severe bacterial infection. To combat the critical situation, the treatment administered was an injection commonly used to counteract the effects of drug overdoses. However, Femalefirst.co.uk emphasises that there is no evidence to suggest that Madonna had consumed any illegal substances.
It’s crucial to note that the same treatment is effectively employed to “reverse acute septic shock in patients”. Septic shock is a potentially fatal condition that can cause a person’s blood pressure to plummet to dangerously low levels. The administered medication is also known to boost blood pressure, which can be vital for patients suffering from septic shock.

RadarOnline reached out to Madonna’s representatives for comments regarding the alarming situation. However, the representatives chose to refrain from responding to these claims.
This medical emergency comes at a time when Madonna, the esteemed ‘Material Girl’ singer, had to postpone her eagerly anticipated Celebration Tour. Despite this setback, she has been recovering steadily and remains positive.
Speaking to UsWeekly, an inside source shared, “Although Madonna is looking forward to getting back to work as soon as possible, she’s also taking her recovery seriously and isn’t going to rush anything because she is focused on her health above all else. She has an incredible support system around her and appreciates all the love she’s received. It’s a work in progress but she’s feeling confident and better every day.”
Madonna’s manager, Guy Oseary, was the first to reveal the singer’s health predicament. On June 28, he took to Instagram to update fans about her condition, announcing that all engagements would be “paused” indefinitely due to Madonna’s health crisis.
In his announcement, Oseary mentioned: “On Saturday, June 24, Madonna developed a serious bacterial infection which led to a several-day stay in the ICU. Her health is improving, however, she is still under medical care. A full recovery is expected. At this time we will need to pause all commitments, which includes the tour. We will share more details with you as soon as we have them, including a new start date for the tour and for rescheduled shows.”
