Neha Dhupia, a renowned actor and proud mother to two beautiful children, has been using her platform to champion the cause of breastfeeding. With a determined voice and a powerful message, Neha has constantly sought to dissolve the stigma that surrounds breastfeeding in public.
In 2019, during International Breastfeeding Week, she initiated an impactful campaign named ‘Freedom To Feed.’ The core objective of the campaign was to create a society where new mothers could comfortably nourish their children, free from judgment or prying eyes, regardless of their location.
As the world observes World Breastfeeding Week, Neha is preparing to take the mantle once again and steer a robust conversation around the significance of breastfeeding. She plans to host live sessions, interacting with well-known celebrity mothers such as Bipasha Basu, Gauhar Khan, Masoom Minawala, and Dia Mirza.
These conversations will provide a platform for these mothers to recount their own personal experiences with breastfeeding. They’ll share the wisdom they’ve gathered, talk about their trials and tribulations, and debunk prevalent misconceptions tied to the nursing of babies.
Speaking about the initiative, Neha expressed, “As the mother to Guriq and Mehr, my two lovely children, I’ve had my fair share of the ups and downs that come with breastfeeding. While it’s an indescribably empowering experience, it’s vital to acknowledge that every mother’s journey is unique and deserves to be honoured without judgment or shaming.”

She further elaborated, “With ‘Freedom To Feed,’ my aim is to shine a light on this crucial facet of motherhood and to dissolve the walls that often stop mothers from confidently engaging in this natural process. This campaign is deeply personal to me, and I am committed to educating and debunking the myths, with the ultimate goal of creating a more supportive and inclusive atmosphere for all mothers.”
Neha tied the knot with actor Angad Bedi in a private Gurudwara ceremony in May 2018. They were blessed with their first child, a daughter named Mehr, in November of the same year. Their second child, a son named Guriq, was welcomed into their family in October 2021.
