January 5, 2011 : A new poster for the American television series ‘Smallville’ shows Clark Kent in the avatar that he is supposed to sport, though the comic book series on TV has never shown Clark Kent in his Superman costumes. Clark Kent is seen wearing his same street dress in the just released poster, but it is the reflection of the actor also on the poster that shows a Superman attired Clark Kent. Therefore the fans of ‘Smallville’ can safely conclude that Clark Kent will ultimately reach his future in the ultimate season of the television series.
If we recall, Tom Welling, the actor behind popularizing the Clark Kent act on TV had said in an interview to the media that Clark Kent was progressing towards the Superman status. The red and blue costumes in the new poster of ‘Smalllville’ is enough to confirm the fact that the Superman in Clark Kent has arrived! He loves the Superman costume, says Tom Welling but refuses to divulge details of the plot that will lead to him putting on the red and blue garb on television. In fact, Tom Welling too is not aware of the events which will lead to his becoming the superhero on television!
The last season of ‘Smallville’ goes on air by the end of January and Tom Welling is hopeful that his fans and the viewers in general will love seeing his superhero Superman act on television. All that Tom Welling feels at present is an added responsibility.
