December 11, 2010 : Popular crime television series ‘The Closer’ will come to a close next year after completing a successful stint on American cable television network spanning seven long years. ‘The Closer’ is reportedly popular not only in the US but also in several European and Asian countries. Therefore, the decision to end the television series may come as a shock to many of the viewers of the crime soap. But if reports are to be believed, the decision to end it was taken by chief actress of ‘The Closer’ Kyra Sedgwick.
Confirming this piece of news to the media, Kyra Sedgwick says that it will very difficult for her to step out of the shoes of her character Brenda Leigh Johnson after she has played the part for the last six seasons of ‘The Closer’ for several years. But Kyra Sedgwick is also thankful to James Duff, the creator of the crime series, for not only supporting her while she was playing Brenda Leigh Johnson, but also when she took the decision to kill her character. It is to be mentioned here that Kyra Sedgwick has also won the Emmy for her portrayal of the detective in ‘The Closer’.
‘The Closer’ still draws the attention of close to 8 million viewers across the US who remain glued to each episode of the crime TV series.
