ABC Renews Contract For 6 Shows

Published on

January 11, 2011 : There is good news for ABC viewers. The channel has given a new year gift to six of its top rating shows, which may lead to a morale boosting for their cast and crew! The channel has renewed the contract for 6 shows, giving them an air-space of one more season at least.

The lucky six are ‘Grey’s Anatomy’, ‘Private Practice’, ‘Castle’, ‘Modern Family’, ‘Cougar Town’ and’ The Middle’. One may wonder, why did the channel do this at this time of the year but the channel has not given any reason. It can be assumed that their profitable ratings have made the channel so confident about their future too.

Earlier, the channel had said that ‘Desperate Housewives’ too will get a two-year renewal, but as of the list released, the name was not present in its first choice of serials! Interestingly, writer Shonda Rhimes turns out to be a lucky woman as two of her shows-‘Private Practice’ and ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ have found favour with the channel.

The renewals are divided into categories of “not surprising at all” and “sure why not”, speaking of the confidence the channel on these shows. In case you have been wondering as to what happens to other shows, then you got to wait. These renewals are much before time and the other shows will come in line with these soon!
