April 15, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Bharti Achrekar is a renowned veteran actress from the Marathi/Hindi film and television industry and had always harbored a dream to work with SAB TV. Well, eventually it paid off and she will be seen playing a prominent character in SAB TV’s ‘Lapataganj’.
A source says, “Bharti Achrekar will be entering ‘Lapataganj’. She is going to essay the role of Mukundi’s sasumaa (Mother-in-law); that is Indumati’s mother.”
We contacted Bharti and she confirms the news, “Yes, I will be soon entering ‘Lapataganj’. All I know about my character is I will be playing Indumati’s mother and she is a mirror image of Indumati. The shoot was going to be start today but now it has now been postponed to Saturday, so I will be shooting from Saturday.”
Is it a cameo role? “No, I am essaying a very pivotal role and my role is not a cameo but can be called as ‘in and out’. I will be present when my character is needed onscreen.”
Why SAB TV and not other channel? “I had always an attraction towards SAB TV and its comedy, so always wanted to be a part of SAB TV and apart from SAB TV, I also had a very great rapport with ‘Lapataganj’ team so it will be fun to be there.”
Well, it will be fun to watch Bharti in a new avatar and her character is sure to add flavor to the already popular show!
