”Bidaai’ Comes To An End On Star Plus

Published on

November 15, 2010 : The stage was set with lights and camera. Only what everyone was waiting was to hear the word Action. The prime time telly drama ‘Sapna Babul Ka….Bidaai’ was given farewell by the Star Plus team at a suburban lounge. ‘Bidaai’ deserved every bit of the arrangement for successfully adorning the bouquet of Star Plus for three years.

‘Bidaai’, a story of two sisters, Sadhna and Ragini, set in the city of Agra caught the eye of Indian viewers because of its new and real concept. The viewers got so involved with their lives that they celebrated in their jubilation and grieved in their pain. Some of the high points in the serial were the reunion of Ragini and Ranveer at Taj Mahotsav, Ragini-Ranveer wedding, clash between the sisters at Natraj Mahotsav and Sadhana’s death.

Now, we all know that high voltage drama and emotions have always been synonymous with ‘Bidaai’ since long. However, true emotions were seen in the farewell party and there was no drama. As the producer of the show, Rajan Shahi gave the farewell speech, tears came rolling down the cheeks of each and every person associated with the show. He praised and thanked everybody from spot boys to the creative head, from child actors to senior actors in making the show a success. He mentioned how each one had contributed towards building the show and how each one of them had grown with each episode. Everybody looked happy and sad at the same time. They were happy because the show was ending at such a good note and high TRPs and sad because never again will they be able to work together and relive those beautiful moments. Ashita Dhawan, who played the character of Malti Babhi sang a beautiful ‘bidaai’ song for the occasion which was composed by her.The whole situation looked as if actually a family was giving ‘bidaai’ to their daughter after marriage.

Almost all the actors of the show were present barring a few. Sara Khan aka Sadhana was absent for obvious reasons as she is participating in ‘Bigg Boss 4’. More than anybody else it was Parul Chauhan aka Ragini who missed her on screen sister. Surprisingly, Ranveer and Sakshi were missing too, from the event. After the parting gifts were given to the team of ‘Bidaai’ by Star Plus, the party came to and end with dance performances and dinner.
