God knows, when I will get married -Disha Wakani

Disha Wakani aka Daya of Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma in an exclusive talk with Telly cafe converse her personal views about college life, schooling, marriage and many more…

How is Disha in real life?

Well, I am very simple but some times bit naughty too. I believe in hard working as it always gives success to people. The most important thing is that ‘I am what I am’. I will never compare my self with others nor will never try to copy them as my efforts are always towards making my own separate image in this industry.

How was your schooling and college life?

About my college life I will just say one thing that it was very “hip hop” which I really loved it. On the other hand my school days were golden days as every one says and it’s obvious as this is the place were you learn your basics. I completed my schooling and college in Ahmadabad. I have never been in regular college like others but have completed my degree in acting college.

Explain in short about your journey towards success?

As I said earlier that I have been in acting college but, if speaking about the journey of my career I should start it from my school days. I started my work with several plays in theatre during my school days and this is how slowly, gradually I started my career in acting. In Ahemdabad, I acted in many Gujarati plays and mini series like, “Aame baraf na pankhi” and “Haso nahi toh mara sum” respectively.

I came to Mumbai and acted in Hindi comedies like Instant Khichdi and did cameo in Jodha Akbar and finally bagged for the role of Daya in Tarak Mehta

What goes contrast to your onscreen and off screen persona?

Almost everything; I am absolutely different than what Daya is, right from the attire, style of talking, laughing and many more things… I don’t like to enter into the kitchen whereas Daya’s half life is spent in it. When it comes to attire, I will never go with saree and you will always see me in western outfits.

What makes you feel down?

The thing that makes me annoyed is those people who say bad things about me in my absence. But yes, one more thing the word “mote” (fat) makes me feel down. I agree that I’m a bit plump but still I get annoyed.

What are your plans of marriage?

The only thing which I can say as for now is, “god knows”.  But yes, I will wait for right person to come in my life and will definitely let you know about the progress too.
