January 26, 2011 : Jeffrey Dean Morgan, might look like Javier Bardem but the guy is better remembered as Denny Duquette from ‘Grey’s Anatomy’. Denny had his heart transplant and went ahead to have a relationship with Izzie played by Katherine Heigl. But now the actor is ready to change his gear and lead a mob drama for the Starz, the ‘Magic City’.

Morgan is in talks to lead the 10 part series set at Miami during the 50s and 60s that chronicles the conflict between monsters, entertainers and politicians. The incident also takes place when Fidel Castro shuts down Havana after taking control of Cuba. Morgan plays the role of Jewish-American who builds a hotel where the incidents take place. In’ Magic City’, Morgan also encounters enemies with clouts and bedfellows with quirky and strange habits.

Mitch Glazer created the ‘Magic City’ who is also the executive producer of the show along with producers Geyer Kosinski and Tony To and is scheduled to go on the floors soon in Miami and might premiere in 2012. Jeffrey Dean Morgan is now all set to leave the small roles like Sam’s mysterious father in ‘Supernatural’ and take on the role of an hotelier in Miami in ‘Magic City’.

Morgan recently wrapped up the independent flicks like Peace, Love & Misunderstanding and The Fields. He has also signed a horror flick with Lionsgate named Dibbuk Box and also stars in The Losers and the watchmen.
