October 11, 2010 : Yun-Jin Kim, the US TV superstar, who wowed the audience with her role in ‘Lost’ is having a homecoming this week as she went to attend the Pusan Film Festival. The actress played a very important role in ‘Lost’. Her six-year stint on the hit American TV series, which aired its finale in May this year, won her lots of critical accolade.
Reports suggest that the beautiful actress is getting set to plunge into the thriving Asian film industry once again. Yun-Jin Kim first came into the limelight by citing in a multitude of Asian films but took a long hiatus after she got cast in ‘Lost’ TV series.
Pusan is the leading film festival of Asia and filmmakers from all over the world come to South-Korea to grab the attention of the International film community. Kim is going to be a juror for the prestigious New Currents Prize for emerging Asian Filmmakers.
During a recent interview, Kim said that American audiences have very little knowledge about the sensibilities of Asian cinema and the Pusan Film Festival might help change that. Kim also said that, looking back, she thinks ‘Lost’ was a new genre of drama that charted the way for other shows based on the similar premise. Kim also said that ‘Lost’ is among the greatest shows of the 21st century and she is proud to have been a part of it.
