June 8, 2010 (Sampurn Wire):Rehman Khan, the comedian known for his stand-up acts, which are original and include remarkable one-liners, will soon be seen on SAB TV’s latest venture ‘Papad Pol Shahbuddin Rathore ki Rangeen Duniya’. There is no situation which does not contain an element of humor for him. His unique style of delivering punches with a straight face sets him well apart from the rest.
After indulging in one-act plays and stage comedies, he enhanced his standing as a comedian by taking part in shows such as ‘Laughter Challenge 3’, ‘Punjabi Chakde’, ‘Comedy Champion’, ‘Dekh India Dekh’, ‘Raju Haazir Ho’, ‘Chinchpokli to China’ , ‘Bade Miya Chota Miya’ and many more.
The actor is quite excited to play Manu Patel and feels lucky to get an opportunity. He said, “This is something new for me after stand-up comedy and I am very excited after seeing the promos. Comedy comes naturally to me hence it was not so difficult to play my part. Initially, I was not ready to take up the role but the character which was narrated to me by the director was something that excited me and I was willing to take up the role.”
Tell us something about your role. “My role is that of a typical kind of person who borrows money from one person and gives it to another. He also takes a commission for being the go-between. But he is basically good at heart and ready to do help others. He gears himself up to do good always.” Says Rehman
So how was your experience of working for the dailies? “It was great but one thing that made me tired were the timings, in dailies we have to go on time and I have to get up early in the morning which tires me but that is not really an issue. I am loving it,” adds Rehman.
