NDTV Profit presents a series of special shows on Budget 2009

New Delhi, June 18, 2009: As Budget 2009 is on the anvil, India’s leading business channel NDTV Profit has laid out a comprehensive line up of special shows to analyze the impact of this year’s budget and the expectations from it. The line up will include a series of shows based on discussions and on ground events with experts and common man, expressing their views on the budget. This special budget line up will cover the sentiments of people from different walks of life. The special budget coverage will include not only Pre budget analysis but also the impact of the budget once it is presented in parliament on July 6.

The programming line up will include shows like Deloitte presents Budget Watch, India’s Budget, Tax Roundtable, We the SME’s, Budget for Bankers, The Lobby, Sector Watch, Budget for Investors, Ghar Ghar Ka Budget & Your Taxes. Two minute vignettes, CEO Wish List, Listen Mr. FM and Tax in 2 minutes, highlighting the expectations of different stakeholders will run at various times throughout the day.

Deloitte presents budget watch

The show captures the high hopes from the union budget, with everyone having their set of wishes. Hosted by Shivnath Thukral, the show analyses the issues which matter to the companies and the economy and to what extent the Finance Minister can meet their expectations. This special series will track issues before and after the budget.

India’s Budget:

NDTV Profit travels to various parts of the country and brings in people from different walks of life on a single platform. Shaili Chopra gets together, an audience of those who matter. Economists, professionals and young students voice their opinions on what the budget should achieve. The format will have people and guests from specific territory to voice their expectations from Budget 2009.

On 21st June, 28th June; 12th July and 19th July at Sun: 7-8pm with a repeat telecast on the following Fri: 6-7pm

Tax Roundtable

Tax Roundtable anchored by Mukesh Butani, the famous tax expert, dwells deep into tax related issues for the upcoming budget. Mukesh Butani is a highly relied expert in government circles and brings forth his understanding of tax issues in this half an hour show

We the SMEs

In this special show, Manvi Dhillon brings out the expectations of the SME’s (small and medium enterprises). India is known for its small and medium enterprises, based out of many small industrial towns such as Ludhiana, Coimbatore and many more. The show brings the demands and hopes of this sector from budget 2009

Budget for Bankers

Budget for Bankers with Ira Dugal brings the perspective of the crucial Banking sector. Be it money flow, growth in rural India or urban projects, it is the banks which will give the real picture of the impact of the budget on the real economy. The show brings forth the views of bankers and their expectations from the budget

Sector Watch with Anjana Menon stitches together panels, in consultation with a leading industry lobby like the CII, and discusses their demands from the finance minister. The show promises focused discussions on what companies want from the budget.

Budget for Investors

These 2 segments in ‘Opening Moves’ will focus on what has changed for investors from a stock market point of view. Anchors Namrata Brar & Prashant Nair will talk to corporates from a shareholder perspective, to know what’s happening in these companies from a budget point of view. The show will highlight the needs & expectations of the ordinary shareholders

Ghar Ghar Ka Budget

Ghar Ghar ka Budget with Sonal Arora will bring the perspective of Indian households with views from housewives, singles and professionals. The show will bring forward a perspective on changing budgets of households and expectations from the budget with stories from across the country. The show captures the mood and views on budget not only of house wives but also of people from varied walks of life.

This show as the name specifies will give a quick wrap up of the most interesting tax developments that the viewers should be watching out for in this budget. Anchor Samina Hirani will also review the major tax changes announced in the budget.
