May 26, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Sony Entertainment has launched the new show ‘Maan Rahe Tera Pitaah‘, with a special screening at Cinemax Infiniti, Versova this Tuesday. This show is part of the double deal Sony had to offer this season in the daily drama soap section. It will go air on 1st June at 8 pm on Sony Entertainment Television.
Speaking about the show Ajayh Balwankar, Programming Head of Sony Entertainment Television says,
“‘Maan Rahe tera Pitaah‘ is a complete family drama showcasing a spectrum of emotions, sacrifice and responsibilities. It’s a different show in look, feel, language and treatment and will surely appeal to our audiences.”
The ‘Fathers of Indian television’ have launched the show as the theme is based on a father itself. Renowned names of Television Industry like Raza Murad and Manoj graced the occasion.
Pramod Moutho, known for his villainous roles in a number of movies, will be entering the television industry with the show where he plays the character of the father Durgaprasad. Speaking on the occasion Pramod says,
“I am obliged to get a role like this. I thank Ajay and Siddharth for giving me the chance to portray such a challenging and rich character. I have always been playing villainous roles. After Raja Hindustani and Khalnayak, I am truly happy to get such a role.”
The show traces the relationship between a father Durgaprasad and a daughter named Anmol who fights all odds to ensure her father’s pride and honour. Anmol loses her mother at a young age in a coal mine accident. Durgaprasad is left with a deep impact of his wife’s death and his sole agenda is to get the coal mines shut and gain justice. But the town turns against him and finally labels him insane. Varun Badola will be seen playing an important character in the show named Kaliprasad who is a local MLA and also Durgaprasad’s brother. He is supportive of Anmol and treats her like his daughter.
Prachin Chauhan was also seen on the occasion supporting girlfriend Archana Taide, who will be seen playing the protagonist Anmol in the show. The two were earlier seen essaying the roles of Shubh and Suhani in the Colors show ‘Maat Pitaah Ke Charno Mein Swarg‘.
‘Maan Rahe Tera Pitaah‘ has been produced by Swastik Pictures which has shows like ‘Amber Dhara‘, ‘Mata Ki Chowki‘, ‘Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijiyo‘ to its credit.
