January 5, 2011 : The Green Hornet is making the right waves with the promos and the teasers that it has released so far. The film already promises to offer good action and with the latest four more clips, the distributors have just notched the expectation a bit higher.
The two clips from the newly offered online teasers show Kato and Britt Reid. On one while the dup are seen admiring their handiwork and the front page news of “Who’s Green Hornet”, in another the duo rams their gadget filled car through a police car. In another clip one sees a glimpse of the action the film will deliver, as Kato fights off the goons.
The film is based on a 1930s radio show that was created by Fran Striker and George W. Trendle for WXYZ radio. The story follows the life of a young man named Britt Reid whose life filled with party and fun, changes as his father dies mysteriously and he goes on in the search to find the bad guys posing as another baddie with Kato.
Kato is the guy who builds the indestructible car the ‘Black Beauty’, with all the impossible conceivable gadgets and weapons. The villain Benjamin Chudnofsky is played by Christopher Waltz while Seth Rogen is Britt and Jay Chou is Kato. Cameron Diaz too is in the film as Lenore Case, the new secretary of Britt. The film is directed by Michel Gondry and Columbia Pictures is taking it out on January 14 in North America and UK while in Australia The Green Hornet will hit the theatres on January 20.
One of those bothersome films containing more than enough great stuff in it it can’t be dismissed out-of-hand, however enough failures that certain is hard-pressed to compliments this.
One thing that I liked about the movie was costumes. they were quite good
