June 3, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): The South Indian music lovers have a good reason to rejoice now as the UF media has ventured into television with plans to launch a lifestyle and music channel, UFX.
The South India based UF media wants the music channel to be a multi-lingual one, which will offer music to Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Telugu as well as the Hindi audiences. It will cater to the youths of 15 to 35 years of age group. However, the medium of communication will be in English.
Apart from South Indian music, the channel will also air Bollywood and International music with equal importance. The channel is also expected to air shows on food, fashion, Internet and travel along with various films as well as interviews with the celebrities and the film actors.
Usman Faheed, managing director, UFX, is very confident about the positioning of the channel. According to him, the channel is youthful, energetic and full of fun, so there will be no dearth of audience. He says, “We won’t give you a single dull moment. There will definitely be no sermons and lectures.”
Currently, the distribution process is going on and the channel is in the soft launch stage. The UFX music channel will be launched in its full fledged form by the end of June. The second phase will see it being launched across the cable and satellite homes of the country.
