Ravi Kishan to host ‘Savdhaan India’ (TV Snippets)

Bhojpuri actor Ravi Kishan will be back on the small screen as a host of “Savdhaan India”.

The actor will be hosting the new series of Life OK’s reality crime show “Savdhaan India – Andhavishwas ke khilaaf”.

With the new series, the aim is to urge the mass to fight against superstition and question blind faith.

“The new season ‘Andhavishwas ke Khilaaf’ will highlight issues that have been part of every individual’s life at some point or the other,” Ravi said in a statement.

He added: “I was astonished to see the facts and figures associated with regards to superstition in our country and people’s blind faith in it. With the new series we will bring alive examples which will serve as an eye opener for our viewers.”

Alok Nath in ‘Naamkarann”

Veteran actor Alok Nath, known for his ‘Babuji’ image, might soon be seen in Mahesh Bhatt’s TV show “Naamkarann”.

According to a source close to the show’s makers, the actor will be making a special appearance on the show.

“The actor will be seen in a totally different light from his usual roles and he is going to make an appearance to set the path straight for Ashish (Viraf Patel) and Neela (Sayantani Ghosh) on the show,” said the source.

The show, which is aired on Star Plus channel, revolves around the life of a young girl, Avni. The story of the show is progressive and will be questioning the social stigmas of society.

It will explore the journey of a 10-year-old who carves her own identity and takes charge of her own destiny.

Shankar Mahadevan to judge TV show ‘Rising Star’

Shankar Mahadevan will be seen judging live voting-led singing TV show “Rising Star”. The singer-composer says the show will be all about “pure and unadulterated music”.

To be produced by Optimystix Entertainment and slated for an early 2017 launch, “Rising Star” is a first-of-its-kind interactive engagement-led format which puts the power of deciding a contestant’s fate in the hands of the viewers.

“The show’s unique concept and its core in pure, unadulterated music, are the primary reasons why I agreed to judge the ‘Rising Star’ contestants. I am looking forward for this exciting journey to begin,” Mahadevan said in a statement.

Four-time winner of the National Award, Mahadevan has composed music for films like “Rockford”, “Dil Chahta Hai”, “Kal Ho Naa Ho”, “Rock On!!” and “Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara”.

Mahadevan added: “The show is high on audience engagement, giving viewers the power to select their favourite contestants as the witness the performances unfold before their eyes, on television.”

“Rising Star” will air on Colors channel.
