More than 350 underprivileged children got a gourmet grazing lunch treat which was prepared and supported by renowned chefs from the culinary fraternity on the occasion of International Chefs Day on Friday.

Indian Culinary Forum Chef & Child Foundation organised the charity lunch for school children at a school here, a statement said.

The objective of the event was to explore new ideas for bettering the life of underprivileged children.

More than 350 girls enjoyed their meal, “which was an opportunity for the chefs to experience the day to day realities of the behind-the-scene operations of ensuring that each child receives a nutritious meal,” the statement said.

Master chefs also educated the school children about the importance of hygiene including the dos and don’ts during/before/after their meal and what the priorities are between education and health.

Commenting on the event, Chef Davinder Kumar, President Indian Culinary Forum, said: “Following our tradition, we have organized yet another grand luncheon for the kids. I feel privileged to be associated in such a social cause. It’s an extreme proud moment for me to see my fellow chefs coming together to work for such a l cause, going beyond their regular cooking schedule.”
