News Helpline’s SaaS platform helps Offline Local News Publishers and Reporters go Online, Says Sanjay Tiwari

Since ages we have heard that Content Is King, and today News Content is the biggest king. Unfortunately News is still like a premium content which is available majorly from Tier 1 cities, whereas actual India is present in Tier II and Tier III cities, from where the News Content does not have an Online presence. So the good news is, News Helplline, a trusted name in Media industry, is all set to help the Offline Local News Publishers and Reporters Go Online to have their digital presence through their own websites.

Sanjay Tiwari, Founder News Helpline, says that in this New Digital India, offline News Publishers are dying. “in 2015 Modi ji started Digital India campaign and in 2016 JIO changed  the entire internet scenario making it accessible to all the class. Now as per RNI (Registrar of Newspapers for India) there are 1,18,000 registered publishers in India out of which 18000 are News Papers and Magazines. But after carrying out a survey we found that Despite of  Digital India campaign and JIO technology only 2% – 3% News Papers and Magazines have an online presence where as 97% to 98% of News Papers & Magazines are still running offline, struggling to survive and are  slowly shutting down”. Said Sanjay.

Giving more insight on the problems faced by offline publishers, Sanjay said, “Despite of strong Local network the local news publications are shutting down because of High Printing Cost, Readers Turning Digital, Lack of Technical knowledge, No definite Revenue Model and News Agencies’ too high subscription rates”.

So, how does News Helpline plan to save these offline Local Publishers and why? “News Helpline is all set to empower Local Reporters and Offline News Publishers across India with not just Content and Technical support but also Revenue model by giving them a digital identify through their own websites. Creating a Local news ecosystem is very important because Local news brings communities together and helps you prepare for your day. Local news updates keep you connected with your town and helps you know your town better, no matter wherever you are.  ” said Sanjay.

Elaborating more on the connection between media, brands and advertisers Sanjay said,    “We also realised that there’s a huge gap in demand and supply in the media and advertising industry. Advertisers’ demand to reach maximum end users through Online publishers is increasing but not getting fulfilled as publishers with huge traffic are mainly from Tier I cities. Whereas Tier II and Tier III publishers are very few and are not in direct contact with the advertisers which is a loss for an advertiser at local level.  News Helpline is here to bridge the gap by connecting publishers from Tier II and Tier III cities to the National and Global brands.”

Apart from being a trusted news agency, News Helpline is now a SaaS company as well, empowering small offline publishers to start their Entrepreneurial journey with their own News website. A step which is completely in sync with PM’s ‘Vocal for Locals’ initiative. A smart platform for advertisers and publishers to grow their business together.
