Russia to host Bollywood Film Festival

The Bollywood Film Festival is scheduled to take place in Russia from November 30 to December 7 at Cinemapark cinemaplex in 20 Russian cities.

The event is happening with the support of the Embassy of India in Russia, the Ministry of Culture of Russian Federation and Russian-based Bollywood company Indian film and media company, which is organising the festival along with Rahul Bali, Director of Innovations india.

JD Institute of Fashion Technology is the fashion partner of the event, in which the designers of the Institute will showcase on the theme Romance Rising.

“I am really excited to see the young designers who will be representing Indian fashion in Russia,” the fest’s director Anna Gutovskaya said in a statement.

The show will take place on November 30 within the frame of the fest, which aims at examining the interconnected worlds of Russia and India.

The fashion show will explore the continuing love for films including “Awara”, “Ajooba”, “Bobby” and “Disco Dancer”.

“Russians have always loved Indian cinema. The fest shows the amount of love the film industry of India has gained. It will set new standards, a stage for the Indian film industry and Indian designers to explore new opportunities and set individual industries to the next level,” RC Dalal, Executive Director, JD Institute of Fashion Technology, added.

The programme of the festival includes popular movies distributed among which is “Fan”, “My XXL Bride”, “Madly in Love” with soundtrack written by music maestro A.R Rahman.

During the closing ceremony of the festival in Moscow, the audience will be treated to superstar Salman Khan-starrer “Sultan“.

“We are introducing new labels of production value and high tech innovations. With the unique composition of sound, life, music and costume, we are ready to bring the feel of India alive at Russia,” said Bali.

Besides Moscow, the festival will take place in cities including St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg and Nizhny Novgorod.
