Model-turned-nun Sofia Hayat has shown support to controversial actress Rakhi Sawant, who is facing charges of making objectionable remarks against sage Valmiki.
Sofia, a former “Bigg Boss” contestant, said in a statement: “I support her. The story that she said is historically correct, but if it’s repeated, then certain sects get upset. I think this is wrong.
“The story of Valmiki is inspiring because it teaches us that the core being of all is good and pure. That is when we get enlightenment.”
Rakhi had submitted an “unconditional apology” to the Valmiki community for her remarks made on a TV show last year.

Actress Shubhangi Atre has urged people to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi without polluting the environment.
“I sincerely request everyone to celebrate the festival without polluting the environment. Use eco-friendly things and give him a ‘visarjan’ with prayers. Avoid alcohol and noise pollution,” she said in a statement.
The festival will begin on Friday.

Actress Devoleena Bhattacharjee is excited to celebrate her birthday by decorating her house to welcome Lord Ganesha.
“I am excited to celebrate my birthday with Ganpati. My birthday celebrations will be spent by decorating my house to welcome Ganpati. I am sure my friends will have some surprise for me,” she said in a statement.
While Devoleena’s birthday is on Tuesday, Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations will start on Friday.
